Correlation between Functional Magnetic Resonance and Symptomatologic Examination in Adult Patients with Myofascial Pain Syndrome of the Masticatory Muscles

چکیده
Myofascial pain syndrome is the most common cause of TMD, characterised by trigger points skeletal muscles in masticatory region. Patients with myofascial suffer from orofacial and headaches. Parafunctional activity such as unconscious teeth clenching predisposes a higher possibility developing pain. We report results prospective study 10 patients diagnosis related to TMD who underwent treatment passive aligners biofeedback exercise. All assessment (visual analogic scale muscular palpation test), measurement masseters thickness Dolphin Imaging Software, nuclear magnetic resonance temporomandibular joint, functional brain before after gnathological treatment. The same (VAS test) for entire duration their This aimed assess if obtained therapy were repeatable using imaging. enabled us correlate subjective datum (pain) an objective one (variation connectivity networks correlated perception). According assessment, considerably reduced 9 out patients. Furthermore, showed similar modifications cerebral default mode these nine change masseter muscle dimensions was not modification Statistical analysis performed evaluate effects on VAS point stimulation length width muscle. Linear regression used correlation between dimension amendment VAS. A paired t-test statistically significant differences areas DMN network. Our suggest that proper can reduce consistently modify activation networks. Overall, because network changes homogeneous all did relate intracapsular TMJ condition but only symptoms.

Correlation between condyle morphology and disk position of disc displacement in patients with TMJ internal derangements by magnetic resonance imaging
Background and Aims :The most frequent cause of TMJ dysfunction is internal derangement which that largely involves the function of the articular disc. Anterior disc displacement (ADD) is one of the major findings in TMJ internal derangement. Since the importance of knowledge of its etiology and also The role of all structural indicators association with TMD was not evaluated, in this researc...
متن کاملComparison of dry needling and inhibitory kinesio taping on the pain and functional disability in females with myofascial pain syndrome in upper trapezius muscle
Introduction: Musculoskeletal disorders are one of the most important causes of the pain, and the myofascial pain syndrome is one of the most commonly reported cases which characterized by the presence of trigger points. The purpose of the present study was to compare the therapeutic effects of two methods of dry needling and inhibitory kinesio taping on the pain intensity and functional disabi...
متن کاملThe Effects of Ultrasound-Guided Dry Needling on Patients With Myofascial Pain Syndrome: A Review Study
Objectives: Dry Needling (DN) is a novel and effective intervention for patients with Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS). Some characteristics, such as needle penetration depth, needle insertion into the target muscle, and trigger points must be identified in this intervention. The Ultrasound (US)-guided DN is a technique that involves needle insertion at the site of injury and the simulation of ti...
